Miracle of the Memory Zam-Zam Water . . .
Allah, the Almighty has mentioned the word “water” several dozens times in His Great Divine Book; the Glorious Quran. What we are interested here is the latest discovery of the Japanese scientist Masaru Emoto concerning “water’s memory”. And that water stores inside its memory all the events that take place around it! Masaru Emoto performed the first of its kind, pioneering experiments on water. He experimented with few drops of water which he put under various sound frequencies. He noticed that the water particles arrangement differs upon changing the frequency!
Perhaps the final experiment Dr. Masaru Emoto did was on Zamzam’s water which he subjected to a stiff and fastidious test. He found out that this water is different than any other type of water on the globe. Interestingly, he noticed that this water has a special interaction and reaction with the Words of Allah, the Almighty; the Glorious Quran recitation on it. This is a photo of Zamzam water gushing through the rocks. Zamzam water still gush non-stop since thousands of years. This is rather an amazing behavior. Where does Zamzam water come from, while in this barren land of a desert? Does this phenomenon require our deep meditation and thinking?
Perhaps we can comprehend now why it is preferable and encouraged to recite [i.e. verses from the Glorious Quran] on water with the hope to cure the patient! Water is the only element in the nature that is distinct in nature than all other elements due to its physical and chemical properties that makes it unanimously, the “Master” of all other elements in the nature.

There are many verses in the Glorious Quran that tell the readers about the great importance of water for life and living beings. “We made from water every living thing.” Prophets 21:30 Also, “He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in 6 Days - and His Throne was over the water - that He might try you, which of you is best in conduct. But if thou wert to say to them, "Ye shall indeed be raised up after death", the Unbelievers would be sure to say, "This is nothing but obvious sorcery!" Hud 11: 7.

This is a photo of a water crystal as captured by Emoto. He noticed that water takes numerous shapes and forms under specific sound frequencies. Perhaps the greatest effect was when he brought Zamzam water and recited verses from the Glorious Quran on it. He observed the water particle taking distinct shapes that distinguish them from any other water particles’ shape in the world.
The scientific interpretation of this phenomena. We had learned from physics laws that any element in the nature is composed of particles that are related to each other by chemical links and very specific shapes that are called molecules. Each molecule consist a number of atoms tied to each other through precise powers that helps them maintain their form and shape. For instance, coal itself is diamond!
Both items, in fact, are atoms of carbon but each is linked or bonded to each other in a different way than the atoms of the diamond. This is one of the wonders found in the nature. In the case of water, when we freeze it and examine it under an electronic microscope we can see it in totally different shape. In fact, not even a single atom would resemble another one! This, of course, indicates the Monotheism of the Creator, Allah, the Almighty. All the molecules are water, i.e., the material is the same, but the shapes are different.
The photo illustrates a snow crystal drawn by a computer in a way that resembles the real crystal. Every million crystals of these weighs one gram only. This means, if we freeze one kilogram of water it might have a billion snow crystals.
Not one of those crystals resembles the other crystals. Glory be to Allah, the Almighty. Water molecules, like any other molecules, are constantly in oscillation or vibration. Therefore, these molecules are affected with all types of light and/or sound vibrations or any other type of vibrations. Water molecules have a unique pattern of vibration as it is affected by sound frequencies around them.
Not one of those crystals resembles the other crystals. Glory be to Allah, the Almighty. Water molecules, like any other molecules, are constantly in oscillation or vibration. Therefore, these molecules are affected with all types of light and/or sound vibrations or any other type of vibrations. Water molecules have a unique pattern of vibration as it is affected by sound frequencies around them.
Allah, the Almighty states in the Glorious Quran [Isra 17:44] (The translation rendering is as follows:) “The 7 heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: there is not a thing but celebrates His praise; And yet ye understand not how they declare His glory! Verily He is Oft-Forbear, Most Forgiving!” Based on this, we can safely say that even the water particles celebrate the praise and glory of Allah. Hence, water particles are affected by Allah’s Words.
In fact, the maximum effect on water is due to recitation of the Words of Allah. His Words are different than any other words of His creatures. Allah, the Almighty is the Creator of water and every atom of the water is subject and submissive to the Words of Allah, the Almighty. In fact, water atoms become more active and vibrant upon reciting verses of the Glorious Quran unto them.
This is what happened to the Japanese scientist Emoto when he recited the first verse of the Glorious Quran onto the Zamzam’s water. He noticed that the shape of the water particles became fantastically beautiful. Rather, when he added Zamzam’s water to any other water the new mix acquired the same characteristics of Zamzam’s water as well!
Therefore, it is safe to say that reciting verses from the Glorious Quran, especially these related to the cure of ailments and illnesses, which we believe suitable to our illness, on water grants such water new characteristics and thus water would acquire more healing ability and improving the immune system of the patient suffering of such an illness. This effect is multiplied when the water we recite Quranic verses on it is Zamzam water.
This is not a decorated painting, but rather it is a snow crystal as it appears under the microscope. Surprisingly enough that we can not find two identical or even alike crystals of water in the entire WORLD. The question that we may pose to agonistic people is, ‘How did these crystals form in such artistically fantastic formation?
Is it the nature who formed them?
Did it happen by a mere chance of probability?
Who has granted these crystals this peculiar formation system?
Or is it Allah, Who said about Himself: “Allah is the Creator of everything.”
Are there scientific facts?
There are many scientists who performed experiments to prove that it has information storage capability, but this was not internationally accepted. Perhaps the Western scientist have no reason to urge them to perform such tough and difficult tests as these tests require prior conviction for the scientist who wants to perform such experiments.
As for us Muslims, we have a sound basis from Quran and Sunnah, traditions and actions of Allah’s Messenger r concerning the memory of water. Allah, the Almighty commanded Prophet Job PBUH, to treat himself with water for cure and healing of his ailments. Allah stated in Glorious Quran Sad 38:41-42, “Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink."
Water grants life to the earth. Allah stated in Glorious Quran Fussilat 41:39, “And among His Signs in this: thou seest the earth barren and desolate; but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred to life and yields increase. Truly, He Who gives life to the (dead) earth can surely give life to (men) who are dead. For He has power over all things.” Think about the combination of “earth stirred to life” and “giving life to dead person”. We can deduce and infer that water carries a “healing power” because the human-body cells can not survive without water.
Furthermore, water causes the earth to vibrate. It is scientifically proven that when the water molecules mix with the earth molecules these molecules are caused to vibrate due to high energy water possesses.
Allah stated in Glorious Quran Hajj 22:56.
“O mankind! if ye have a doubt about the Resurrection, (consider) that We created you out of dust, then out of sperm, then out of a leech-like clot, then out of a morsel of flesh, partly formed and partly unformed, in order that We may manifest (our power) to you; and We cause whom We will to rest in the wombs for an appointed term, then do We bring you out as babes, then (foster you) that ye may reach your age of full strength; and some of you are called to die, and some are sent back to the feeblest old age, so that they know nothing after having known (much), and (further), thou seest the earth barren and lifeless, but when We pour down rain on it, it is stirred (to life), it swells, and it puts forth every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs). This is so, because Allah is the Reality: it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who has power over all things.”
Hence, we can safely say again that since water carries and brings life to plants and to each cell of our humanbody, similarly, if the earth vibrates when water comes down on it, the human-body’s cells would also be affected and vibrated when water enters these cells. It is possible that water is affected by sound vibrations (sound, in fact, is waves or rather mechanical vibrations that are transferred through the air much faster!) Thus, it is possible that the water that is recited on would become more capable of healing, Allah Knows best. Notice how the molecules of water are formed in peculiar fantastic forms and shapes. These photos prove that water possesses a specific energy. These are the shapes that Emoto got while performing his experiments. See: The Message from Water. Why are we surprised at this memory? Some people may surprise to hear about this and they may pose the following question: How could water store information? The answer is: Water is the essence of life. Humans and other living beings are created of water. Water makes up %70-90 of the living cells. Water might make up even more than %90 of some
types of plants. So, why are we surprised to learn that water possesses certain, wonderful and very special characteristics? It is no wonder when we hear about, or even see, a thin computer chip storing millions of data bits and bytes. This chip is man-made item. What should we say about the Creator’s creations! Allah stated in Glorious Quran AlNaml [The Ants] 27:88, “Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away: (such is) the artistry of Allah, who disposes of all things in perfect order: for he is well acquainted with all that ye do.” There are very sophisticated processes water performs inside the cells. These processes are not known because science did not develop enough to the level whereby the human mind could grasp.
Scientists discovered that the electromagnetic field formed around the healthy cell differs from that formed around the cancerous cell, and the water percentage around both is also different. Similarly, the biological processes carried out by each of the cells also vary, and all this proves that we do not know yet the potential energy of the water! When Emoto’s book: “The Message from Water” first appeared a lot of scientists questioned the credibility of this research. Some of them denied it while some others supported it. If we look at what came in this book, we note that the author wanted to say that the water molecules are affected by any words recited onto them. We support this because we believe as Muslims that water and food are affected by the word of Allah blessed and exalted be His name. But there are things that we do not support, such as the impact of words of love, music, and other talismans and polytheism phrases, which are contrary to what Allah revealed and dissociate ourselves from such things.
Expert’s Advice
There are many Islamic experiments done on water. These tested the healing ability water possesses, provided that a person should read onto the water some verses from Glorious Quran. It is reported that Allah’s Messenger r uttered the phrase, “In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, Most Merciful” onto the water before he drank it. Therefore, this is an advice to every suffering person to recite verses from the Glorious Quran, i.e.
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, Most Merciful” and the verse of the Throne Baqara 2:255, before drinking any glass of water for 7 days. This is a very effective and useful process that improves the immune system of the body provided that such a person is a firm believer in the healing ability of Allah, the Almighty and that he trusts Allah in all his affairs. If the ill person has a good quality pure honey of any kind, let him/her add a spoonful of honey to the glass of water before drinking it also.
If the Fatiha [The opening chapter of the Glorious Quran], is recited 7 times, the verse of the Throne is recited once and the last 3 chapters of the Glorious Quran are recited 3 times each, then the water on which these portions of the Glorious Quran Ruqiyah [spell-like] were recited would have an influential healing effect. Recitation of such portions of Quran should be performed aloud in an audible sound with full humility and observance to the greatness of Allah.
O Allah! Make faith dear to us and decorate it in our hearts and make hated to us disbelief, immorality and sin. Verily You listen and respond.
ملاحظة هامة: p.s. The research we referred about that was carried out by Emoto, is controversial among scholars. Some supported and approved, while others raised doubts about it. We do believe that water is affected by the recitation of the Words of its Creator, Allah, the Almighty.
We further believe that Allah, the Almighty has created every living being from water. And, if it was not for the special characteristics placed in the water, other than all other elements, water could never been suitable for life and living beings. We ought to remember also that at first, at the beginning of the creation, Allah’s Throne was placed on water, and, Allah created every creature of water, and undoubtedly the best type of water is the water of Zamzam.
